Basic Characteristics Of Grooved Couplings

Leave a message

Grooved couplings are a mainstream type of mechanical pipe connector; their core characteristics are as follows:

Structural Composition
They primarily consist of three components: a rubber sealing gasket, the coupling housing, and locking bolts. Certain models feature specific structural types-such as rigid or flexible designs-to suit varying operational requirements.

Performance Characteristics
Installation is convenient and requires no welding or complex specialized skills; ordinary workers can perform the task after brief training, and installation speed is far superior to traditional connection methods.
Sealing performance improves in tandem with rising internal fluid pressure; the rated pressure reaches up to 2.5 MPa, accommodating pipe sizes ranging from DN20 to DN600.
They do not damage the internal anti-corrosion coating of the pipe, allow for either rigid or flexible connections, and can compensate for displacement caused by thermal expansion and contraction.

Wide Range of Applications
They are suitable for various systems-including fire protection, water supply and drainage, and petrochemicals-and are compatible with diverse piping materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and plastic-lined steel. They support both exposed and buried installation scenarios.
