Maintenance Of Grooved Couplings

Leave a message

Routine Inspections
Connection Point Inspection: Regularly check the coupling connection points; promptly tighten any loose nuts to prevent leaks caused by poor sealing.
Visual Inspection: Check the coupling surface for wear, deformation, or rust; assess the impact on performance and replace the unit if necessary.
Seal Inspection: Check the sealing gasket for aging, deformation, or damage; replace it promptly if issues are found, and clear any foreign objects from the sealing area before each use.
Tightness Check: Use a torque wrench to verify the tightening torque of the coupling bolts; for fire protection piping, maintain a standard torque value of 30–40 N·m.

Cleaning and Anti-Corrosion Maintenance
Surface Cleaning: Wipe dirt and debris from the coupling surface with a clean, damp cloth; avoid using sharp tools that could scratch the surface and damage the anti-corrosion coating.
Protection in Special Environments: In humid environments or areas prone to corrosive substances, increase cleaning frequency to prevent corrosion.
Rust Treatment: For galvanized fittings showing white or red rust, clean the area with a wire brush and apply anti-rust paint; for stainless steel fittings, take precautions against chloride ion pitting.

Storage and Handling Requirements
Environmental Requirements: Store unused couplings in a dry, well-ventilated area to prevent moisture-induced rusting.
Categorized Management: Store couplings of different specifications separately and label them clearly for easy retrieval and management.
Storage and Transport Protection: Handle with care during loading, unloading, and transport; strictly prohibit throwing, dropping, or impact; keep away from corrosive materials; store rubber sealing gaskets together with the couplings.
