How Often Should Grooved Couplings Undergo A Comprehensive Inspection?

Leave a message

Standard domestic water supply systems: Conduct a comprehensive inspection every 6 to 12 months, covering the tightness of all couplings and the condition of seals.

Fire sprinkler/hydrant systems: Conduct a dedicated comprehensive inspection quarterly to comply with mandatory fire safety inspection requirements.

Special pressure piping (e.g., gas lines): Conduct a comprehensive leak check and performance verification every 3 months to mitigate safety risks.

Special operating environments: For grooved couplings located at heights, underground, or in highly corrosive environments, shorten the comprehensive inspection interval to 2–3 months to promptly identify issues such as corrosion or loosening.

Mandatory annual verification: Regardless of the application, perform a full-system pressure test and overall performance verification for all grooved couplings at least once a year.
