Ductile Iron
This is the most widely used material in engineering applications-such as grooved fire-protection couplings and standard grooved tees-offering high strength, high elongation, excellent corrosion resistance, and superior vibration resistance. It is suitable for most standard piping scenarios, including fire protection and water supply/drainage systems.
Stainless Steel
Commonly available in grades such as 304 and 316L (e.g., 304 stainless steel grooved 45-degree elbows), these materials offer outstanding corrosion resistance. They are suitable for applications requiring high standards of hygiene or corrosion resistance-such as drinking water systems, food processing, and chemical industries-and can withstand high pressures.
Other Materials
Options also include cast steel, HDPE, and malleable iron. Cast steel fittings offer superior high-pressure resistance; HDPE provides impact resistance and resistance to acids and alkalis; and malleable iron fittings offer good corrosion resistance. These materials can be selected flexibly based on specific operating conditions.
